“Thank you Easy Fleet GPS for aiding in the recovery of our stolen Ford F350 so quickly. Thank you for providing such a great and reliable service!” – Henry Castro – BCM Masonry
Peter, I just wanted to tell you a quick story of what happened and how Easy Fleet GPS worked for us.
Our drivers were arriving back to the yard and parking our trucks. I was helping them back in and everything seemed like just another normal day.
When I got to my desk, I checked the Easy Fleet GPS mapping platform to make sure all the trucks were stopped and in the yard. I noticed our Ford F350 was moving and thought it was a bit strange since just minutes ago we parked them.
When I went downstairs to check who might have taken it, another worker notified me that he thinks someone might have stolen it.
I quickly pulled out my phone and started to track the Ford F350 on the Easy Fleet GPS mobile app. At 3:19 PM the truck was stolen, by 3:26 PM the truck was located parked behind a liquor store. By 3:35 PM we had local sheriffs on-site already responding to the incident.
If we did not have Easy Fleet GPS this situation would have ended up much differently and we would not have recovered our stolen truck.
One of the biggest costs to a company is the theft and replacement of assets and equipment. Our Easy Fleet GPS Equipment and Asset Management solution will significantly eliminate this risk.
Whether you have yellow heavy equipment on a construction site, combine farm equipment, generators, trailers, or any valuable equipment, we offer an asset management solution to fit your needs. With the ability to set up unlimited landmark boundaries you will be notified if a piece of equipment leaves a job site or company yard.
With our advanced tow notification, you will know if your equipment is moving without having an ignition on event. In addition to reducing theft and increasing the chance of recovery, our Equipment and Asset Solution monitors engine hours, provides 10-minute updates while moving, auto sleep mode while disconnected from power, and has an internal back-up battery that will last 60 days while disconnected from power.
The telematics data provided by monitoring your equipment and assets will allow you to better manage your inventory of assets, know the utilization of your equipment and assets, and provide peace of mind knowing where every piece of equipment is located.
Our equipment and asset devices are weatherized and ruggedized to handle to demands of a construction site or any weather conditions.
Many people have heard the term “Landmarks”, but aren’t exactly sure what they are and their value.
In simple terms, a Landmark is a boundary around an office location, company yard, job site, distribution center, customer location, or any location your employees may visit. Also, if your employees take the company vehicles home, you may want to set a landmark around their house.
A Landmark captures the time when your vehicle arrives and leaves a location, how long it was stopped, how long it traveled within the landmark, and how long it idled within the landmark.
So why is this information important? Well, there are several reasons. Many customers pay their employees or bill customers based on how long they were at a job site or customer location. By creating Landmarks, you will know exactly when your employee arrives and leaves a location, and how long they were there. Have you ever received a call from a customer claiming your employee arrived 20 minutes late or left early? Now, you can know when your employee arrived and left.
Additionally, Landmarks can aid in the recovery of stolen vehicles or heavy equipment. Again, you create a Landmark around our company office or job site. If a vehicle leaves the Landmark in the middle of the night you can receive an immediate notification that a vehicle or asset has left that location.
As business owners, we like to trust our employees. We can’t see all of our field employees without the help of GPS fleet tracking. Throughout the day an employee could take advantage of this freedom. Many companies, especially where the employee brings the company vehicle home, have set a Landmark at the employee’s house. This is important for several reasons. First, you can know if the employee is going home during the day and not working. Second, you can tell if the employee is using the company vehicle for personal business. Third, you can tell if the employee is doing side-jobs using the company’s assets and materials.
Companies can also set Landmarks around locations where your employees should not go. For example, bars or competitor locations. Through the use of Landmarks, one customer determined that an employee was selling company materials to a competitor. Additionally, you want to limit your risks and liabilities by knowing if an employee stopped at a local bar to have a few drinks between jobs or at the end of the day prior to driving the company vehicle.
In summary, Landmarks can help reduce your payroll/overtime costs, allow you to provide accurate billing to customers, aid in the recovery of stolen equipment, and help in reducing your risks by knowing where your employees are visiting.
Payroll costs are one of the highest costs for a company. Yet without employees, a company will not be productive. The challenge for most companies is how to balance and manage payroll costs, overtime costs, and ensure their employees are actually working, especially when an employee works in the field.
On a regular basis, we hear from employers that they are not sure where their employees are and whether they are working or being unproductive. Another major concern is monitoring side jobs, where the employee collects cash, yet uses the company’s materials and assets to perform a personal job either during working hours or during off-hours. The company does not receive any of the revenue from these side jobs.
Through the use of the Easy Fleet GPS advanced technology, employers can see when their vehicles are moving especially during non-working hours. Also, if employees bring company vehicles home, an employer can set up a geo-fence around the employee’s home.
Business owners and fleet managers will know exactly when a vehicle arrives and departs from a job site or customer location. Through real-time data, you will know if your field employees are actually doing what you are paying them to do.
Through the use of our real-time GPS technology, one of our landscape customers recently reduced their overtime and payroll costs by over 50%. They learned that technicians were completing jobs between 2:30 PM and 4:00 PM, then they would drive around or stop at a fast-food restaurant and return to the yard at 4:30 PM to get paid for the full day.
Also, one of our pool cleaning customers determined that their cleaning technicians were performing side jobs between 7:00 PM and 9:00 PM, collecting cash while using the company’s supplies and chemicals.
The investment you make in using Easy Fleet GPS and our solutions will help your company reduce costs, increase productivity, and increase profitability.

Also, through using our solutions, they are reducing the costs associated with managing a fleet in order to help their company be more profitable.
Our customers experience ROI in the first 30-45 days of using our service. In a recent survey by the Department of Motor Carriers, 98% of GPS customers realized ROI within the first month and a half and view GPS fleet tracking as an invaluable tool in reducing overall fleet costs, improving driver safety, and increasing productivity.
Also, our customers have peace of mind knowing that their vehicles are healthy and well-maintained, reducing the chance of mechanical failures and keeping their employees safe. Fleet managers and business owners can rest easy that they are doing everything possible to protect their employees and the reputation of their company, by monitoring speeding and all aspects of driving behavior.
Did you know that monitoring the speed that your vehicles drive can be profitable to your company?
Excessive speeding can dramatically reduce fuel efficiency and increase your fuel costs, but many of us don’t realize by just how much.
It’s true. Your vehicle’s gas mileage decreases once it gets past its optimal speed. For most vehicles, this is around 55 mph. This means that every time you go over this speed, you’re essentially wasting fuel and money. You’d be surprised to learn that a slight decrease in your highway driving speed could significantly reduce your fuel consumption, while only adding a few minutes to the travel time.
According to studies backed by the Department of Energy, the average vehicle will be at its advertised peak efficiency MPG at 55 mph. As the speed increases you lose up to 28% of efficiency when traveling at highway speeds!
– 3% less efficient at 60 mph
– 8% less efficient at 65 mph
– 17% less efficient at 70 mph
– 23% less efficient at 75 mph
– 28% less efficient at 80 mph
Are Your Easy Fleet GPS Speed Alerts Set? Are You Coaching Your Drivers?
Easy Fleet GPS real-time speeding alerts ensure your drivers are driving in a safe manner, and will provide significant savings in fuel cost.
Easy Fleet GPS offers two types of speed alerts. One is a top end “threshold” alert. Set the threshold at, for example, 70 mph, and if a driver exceeds that alert you will be notified that they exceeded that speed.
The other alert is a “posted speed” alert. Set this alert to be triggered if a driver exceeds, for example, 12 mph over ANY posted speed limit on any road. Real-time alerts can be sent to your email or phone, or you may want to simply have a daily or weekly speeding report sent to you showing all violations.
Use these alerts and reports to coach your drivers, and watch your fuel costs shrink!
Easy Fleet GPS Tracking works for more than just fleets of vehicles. Easy Fleet GPS’s solution also has options for your assets – trailers and equipment. It is equally important to track your assets and equipment as it is to track your vehicles. You receive the same benefits of vehicle tracking with real-time data showing where your assets are located at any time. You can also track its use which helps you determine if you have any specific asset that is being underutilized. Theft of heavy equipment is a big issue in the construction industry. By tracking your equipment, you can mitigate the possibility of theft.
Our trailer tracking device is specifically designed for your trailers and is built to withstand harsh environments. The internal back-up battery allows the device to function for up to 60 days without power.
Just some of the assets you can track:
- Dry vans
Essentially any powered equipment or trailers!
Our equipment tracking device is specifically designed for all powered assets and is also built to withstand harsh environments with an internal back-up battery enabling the device to function for 60 days without power.
Some of the equipment you can track:

It’s crucial to track all your high value assets to prevent theft, keep up with the proper maintenance and track utilization! Easy Fleet GPS offers a solution that can track your fleet of vehicles AND your assets all on one easy to use platform.
I speak with companies on a daily basis with two or more vehicles, and I amazed the number of companies that do not use a GPS tracking or fleet management solution. The common responses to why they do not have a solution are: too costly, I don’t need it, and my employees have worked for me forever and I trust them. I love these responses because in few sentences I can show the business owner or fleet manager the value of investing in their fleet and their employees.
There is so much more to GPS tracking than just knowing where your vehicles are, or more commonly known as dots on a map. Yes, one of the benefits is you are able to view the where, what, and when of your vehicles. This is important since you will know that your trucks are where they should be, and drove the route they should have. Simply knowing where your vehicles are located, what route they took, and how long have they been stopped will help reduce your overtime costs, eliminate unnecessary miles, unauthorized use, and help you provide accurate payroll and billing.
By monitoring speeding and idling you will see a 15-20% reduction in your fuel costs. By monitoring driver behavior, you build a safer fleet of drivers, reduce your speeding violations and accidents, reduce the wear & tear on your vehicles, and prolong the life of your vehicles.
Through our automated Vehicle Maintenance Program, you will ensure all of your vehicles are healthy and well maintained. Again, saving you money and time. Also, through our automated process your Maintenance Manager or Operations Manager won’t be bogged down with manual tracking of miles and due dates.
Customers that fully use the tools and solutions offered through Easy Fleet GPS; automated reports, instant notifications 24/7 monitoring, FuelCard, and much more, they realize the ROI in the first 30 to 45 days.
“All of our employees have integrity, unfortunately sometimes you have to prove it. Thanks to Easy Fleet GPS tracking I was able to have the data to back my employees.”
— Jim J – Jackson Landscaping
One of our landscaping maintenance companies called us and stated that one of their customers claimed that the landscape maintenance technician stole a UPS package from their house. This was a long-time customer and a long-time employee, so the company was shocked.
The customer stated that the package was delivered around 3:00 PM, and they arrived home around 6:30 PM. Through the use of the daily trip report available through our GPS Fleet Tracking solution, the company determined that the technician arrived at the residence at 8:42 AM and left at 9:18 AM. Also the company was able to determine that they had no other vehicles within 15 miles of the home the entire day.
After presenting the customer with this evidence, the customer learned that neighbor had picked up the package, since there was an increase in package theft. The customer was very appreciative of the efforts the landscape company went through to investigate his concerns. The landscaping company was also pleased that our solution protected their employee, integrity, and reputation.
“Easy Fleet GPS’s fleet tracking system puts a stop on bad employee behavior. Having that peace of mind and track-ability is worth every penny.”
— Kevin G. – Aqua Pool Service
We were approached by one of our customers, a pool maintenance company with 15 vehicles. They were experiencing an unexplained increase in the chemicals, supplies, and fuel costs, while the number of pools they were serving was not increasing. The company allowed their technicians to drive the company trucks home.
Through the use of our GPS Fleet Tracking solution, the company determined that several company vehicles were moving between 7:30pm and 10:00pm, with 15-20 minute stops at residential addresses near their homes. The company quickly realized these technicians were doing side jobs, and collecting cash payments while using the company’s chemicals, supplies, and vehicles. The company immediately addressed this issue to eliminate the unexplained increase. More importantly the company reduced their fuel costs by 15% each month.
